An 80-year-old man who could not control his sexual urge has been arrested for raping a 12-year-old girl.

An 80-year-old man, Olajide Ojo of B22, Oke-Ode
Idogun Street, Ikole-Ekiti, Ekiti State, is in serious hot water after
he was arrested by the state police command for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl on the 24th of December, 2014, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Victor Babayemi has confirmed.
According
to the police spokesperson in the state, the victim who hawking some
items on the street, was lured into the room by the suspect under the
pretence that he wanted her to buy pounded yam for him.
On
entering the room, Pa Ojo locked the door and forcefully raped her. It
was the agonising cries of the girl that alerted his neighbours who
apprehended him and handed him over to the police.
Detectives
responded promptly and arrested the suspect and took the victim to the
hospital. Medical report as well as the blood stained exhibits recovered
from the scene confirmed that the victim was defiled by the suspect.
Babayemi
said that the suspect will be charged to court as soon as the
industrial action embarked upon by judiciary staff is called off.
